When you take your new cat home let it explore its new habitat. If you own another cat watch to see if they get along. If the new one is scared of your other one it is natural, they will get used to each other time.

Declawing

Some people do not recommend declawing cats for it is very painful for a cat without their claws.  But there is also a way to soften their claws without declawing. Soft Claws are nail caps for cats. Going to the Veterinarian 

Your cat should go to the vet at least twice a year for a check up, especially if they are outside cats.

They will get their yearly shots and whatever else your vet reccomends.
